My thoughts on Toga. I was re-watching the third movie and I can't help but feel that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's father was possibly an idiot or really smart/brilliant. Why for being a possible idiot, I mean he had just fathered a hanyou and he very much knows the kid will have a hard life and I believe had he lived Inuyasha's younger life would.

Inuyasha didn't surpass Toga when he defeated Ryūkotsusei At least the anime, because Tōga had little to no presence in the manga, so I'll be referencing the anime. Long rant, years in the making: Inuyasha defeated Ryūkotsusei and learned the backlash wave, something his father couldn't do.

lalaena. • 3 yr. ago. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think that Inuyasha not only hasn't surpassed Toga, but shouldn't surpass Toga. Inuyasha is half human. He will never be as powerful or as much of a badass as Toga. And that's ok - I think it's a good thing actually.
