Dunluce Castle ( / dʊnˈluːs /; from Irish Dún Libhse) [3] is a now-ruined medieval castle in Northern Ireland, the seat of Clan MacDonnell. It is located on the edge of a basalt outcropping in County Antrim (between Portballintrae and Portrush ), and is accessible via a bridge connecting it to the mainland.

The castle is open daily from February through November from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from December through January from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last entry 30 minutes before closing. Admission costs £6 for adults; £4.50 for seniors 65+, students 18+, disabled, and unemployed citizens; £4 for children 5-17; and free for children under 5.

Dunluce Castle (or Dún Libhse in Irish) is a now-ruined medieval castle and seat of Clan McDonnell in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The castle is located on the edge of a basalt outcropping and can be accessed through a bridge connecting it to the mainland. Dunluce was built in the 13th century by Richard Óg de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster.

About Dunluce is one of the most picturesque and romantic of Irish Castles. With evidence of settlement from the first millennium, the present castle ruins date mainly from the 16th and 17th centuries. It was inhabited by both the feuding McQuillan and MacDonnell clans. Historical and archaeological exhibits are on display for public viewing.

After the Royalist second Earl was arrested at Dunluce in 1642 the family ceased to reside at Dunluce Castle, which gradually fell into decay, though it remained the property of the Earls of Antrim until 1928 when it was transferred to the State for preservation. Located on the Antrim coast, 2 miles W of Bushmills. NGR: C 904414.
